The first entry I posted was an autobiography I had to write for a University Assignment in my second year, that was about 3 and a half years ago and a lot, but not a lot has happened since then. I am gonna give you the crib notes on the significant bits now...after that I can add bits and pieces over the next week or so in more manageable chunks...
Right here we go, better get started:
Health:-
Generally good, for a very long time I was allergic to all raw fruit and vegetables and it was a pain in the ass (figuratively not literally) trying to eat healthily. Since then the allergy has lessened and I can now eat salads, apples, and about one strawberry at a time without a flare up.
I also got diagnosed with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) nearly two years ago and I now live on prescription medication three times a day to control it. Its not the end of the world, I just have to be careful what I eat - someday I'll post the list of no-no foods just for the kick of it - but apart from that it doesn't ruin my life.
I also had an HIV scare about 2 or 3 years ago. It was not a nice time in my life. I took a guy home from a club and we did the dirty deed and the condom broke, not once (which I felt and so stopped and replaced) but TWICE! I went and got tested about a week after for everything but then had the joy of waiting another 3 months for the final all clear. I am happy to report that I failed the test with flying colours and I am clean and clear of all STI's. I am also now neurotic about safe sex....
Work:-
I finished my degree, a BA (Hons) English with Popular Culture with a 2:2 which I am very proud of. I got really ill in my final year (the IBS - see above) and had to split my year in two. But it worked out ok in the end.
After that I did a year as the Union Welfare Officer for the Students' Union at my University which I thoroughly enjoyed and got a lot out of. It was a very hard year, a very fulfiling year and a bi-product is the fact that I met Jake - much much more on this particular man to come.
Housing:-
I made the leap from Exmouth to Exeter about 6 months ago and it is the best thing I have ever done Accommodation wise. I live in a houseshare - there are five of us and it was only the second time in my life that I have moved into a house where I didn't really know everyone (the first time being Halls). It has been a great success. I socialise with Michelle, the lesbian Hairdresser who is wicked. And then there is also Lee, who we all thought might be a little bi-curious due to his seriously flirtatious behaviour and his love of gay clubs but our suspicions were unfounded as he is moving out of the house in about 3 days to live with his girlfriend. Also in the house is Louis who is a very cool, chilled out pot smoking pet shop manager and TJ the chav (rough as arseholes, common as muck, etc etc). The replacement for Lee is an old Uni friend of mine called Jo, she is wicked and I can't wait to live with here again as we had the pleasure of living together in the first year.
Friends:-
Friends come and go, but the precious few stick around and one of which is Jamie, the Hobbs to my Calvin. We realised that not only did we resemble the two cartoon heroes physically but we also had many characteristics of the two as well. For instance, I am short and blond - like Calvin. And like Calvin, I too am a bit over analytical and have no sense of personal self preservation. And Jamie, is something of a feline character - bit hairy and scruffy! hehehe. He is also REALLY tall! And like Hobbs he is very direct and to the point - plus he likes to smooch pretty much anything that walkes on two legs when he has had a drink or two.
Loves:-
Significant loves in the past few years. There were none until this past year. I don't think I was mature enough for a relationship until then. The first one was Alex, who I think was possibly my first love. It ended badly because he wasn't over his Ex. Then there was James about 2 months later. We were together for 6 weeks before he went out for cigarettes and never came back...he later told me he couldn't cope with everything that was going on because his Ex had done a number on him. James wasn't hung up on his Ex, because, to be blunt he was a psycho that attacked him with a knife. But while the wounds healed, apparently the scars were emotional as well as physical.
On the 4th June 2005, at a conference in Edinburgh I met Jake. We have been together ever since. He is the one. I will write about him properly later - he deserves a whole post to himself.
